Day 10 of Asian Games 2018: India has won its first gold medal of the day as Manjit Singh took the yellow metal in men’s 800 metres. He was closely followed by Jinson Johnson who won the silver medal in the same event.
India’s medal rush in athletics continued as Manjit Singh won the gold medal in men’s 800 metres while Jinson Johnson won the silver in the same event. Pincky Balhara won the silver medal in women’s 52 kg Kurash and Mallaprabha Jadhav settled for a silver in the same event. Earlier, the Indian women’s archery team won the silver medal in the compound event, narrowly losing out to South Korea. The men’s compound team also lost to South Korea narrowly and got the silver medal. PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian to win a singles silver medal in badminton. The Indian men’s table tennis team also got a bronze medal after losing to South Korea in the semi-finals.
Neeraj Chopra was the undoubted star of the show on Day 9 of the Asian Games winning India’s 8th gold medal of the event. The 20-year-old broke the national record to win the medal. The Indian men’s hockey team has been really impressive at the games thus far, scoring more than 50 goals in four matches and they added 20 more as they thrashed Sri Lanka in their final Pool A game.
